The BSR region is characterised by a situation of missing links, which will contribute to the reduction of road traffic, which is very high in urban agglomerations. Motorization rate has risen in all BSR and will probably continue in the coming decade. Bike position is small in lots of cities in the BSR, but has a place to play in the multi-modal sustainable transport system in and between cities. The project aims to endorse smoother BSR integration (by linking cities) and competitiveness, and to transnational promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transport inside, between and around towns; to strengthen its position in strategic spatial planning as well as to promote cycling as a lifestyle.
