Bakgrunn

Nordic Bridge tackles challenges in the NPA region like brain drain and weak academia-society links. It creates a digital, challenge-driven portal where public, private, and community sectors post real-world problems. Students and researchers respond through collaborative projects like thesis work. Joint agreements among partner universities will boost cross-border collaboration. The result: a sustainable, transnational portal built on the Quadruple Helix Model for long-term impact.

Mål og delmål

The Nordic Bridge project aims to develop a digital problem-solution matchmaking portal to foster collaboration between academia and societal stakeholders across the NPA region.

The specific objectives of the project are:
i. Design the sustainable problem-solution match-making digital-portal to integrate universities, government, industry, and communities, across NPA region
ii. Prototype and test the portal for user-centric functionality
iii. Establish a sustainability plan for long-term operation and growth

The project will establish a digital collaboration portal, facilitate matchmaking between academic and societal actors, and promote challenge-driven thesis projects. It will use outreach campaigns, and joint supervision agreements. Engagement from universities, public, private, and community sectors will be secured through workshops, network events, and targeted communication.

Forventede resultater og effekter

i. Establishment of a digital collaboration portal that connects universities, the public sector, private sector, and community sectors across the entire NPA region.
ii. Initiation of at least five collaborative thesis projects addressing regional challenges in areas such as: blue and green growth, innovation and entrepreneurship, health, welfare and education, and public safety.
iii. Engagement of at least five public, private, and community actors through the portal to provide real challenges for academic research.
